What is galvanized steel pipe?

Galvanized pipe, also known as galvanized steel pipe, divided into two kinds of hot dip galvanized and electric galvanized, hot dip galvanized galvanized layer thick, with uniform coating, strong adhesion, long service life and other advantages. Hot galvanized steel pipe:

The molten metal reacts with the iron matrix to produce an alloy layer, so that the matrix and the coating are combined. Hot dip galvanized steel pipe is first pickling, in order to remove iron oxide on the surface of the steel pipe, after pickling, through ammonium chloride or zinc chloride aqueous solution or ammonium chloride and zinc chloride mixed aqueous solution tank for cleaning, and then into the hot dip plating tank. Hot dip galvanizing steel pipe has the advantages of uniform coating, strong adhesion and long service life. Most of the processes in north China are zinc plating with direct coil pipe.

Cold galvanized steel pipe:

Cold galvanized is electric galvanized, galvanized amount is very little, only 10-50g/m2, its own corrosion resistance is much different than hot galvanized steel pipe. Regular galvanized steel pipe manufacturers, in order to ensure quality, most do not use galvanized (cold plating). Only those small enterprises with obsolete equipment use electrogalvanizing, of course, their price is relatively cheaper. In the future, it is not allowed to use cold galvanized steel pipe as water and gas pipe.

What are the specific differences between cold galvanized steel pipe and hot galvanized steel pipe?

1.Cold galvanized steel pipe is actually galvanized steel pipe, and the content of galvanized is very little. The corrosion resistance of hot galvanized steel pipe is dozens of times that of cold galvanized steel pipe.
2.The difference in the way of operation. The zinc in hot galvanizing is generally obtained in 450 degrees Celsius to 480 degrees Celsius, and the zinc in cold galvanized steel pipe is obtained by electroplating at room temperature.
3.In the difference between the thickness of galvanized layer, the thickness of zinc in hot galvanized steel pipe is much thicker than that in cold galvanized steel pipe.
4.The difference in surface smoothness, the surface of cold galvanized steel pipe is much rougher than that of hot galvanized steel pipe.

5.There is also a big difference in the price. Hot dip galvanized steel pipe will not use electric galvanizing, and those with older equipment and smaller enterprises mostly use electric galvanizing. Naturally, cold galvanized steel pipe is much cheaper than hot dip galvanized steel pipe.
6.Cold galvanized steel pipe is galvanized only on one side of the steel pipe, while hot galvanized steel pipe should be fully galvanized.
7.In the adhesion difference, the adhesion of cold galvanized steel pipe is much worse than that of hot galvanized steel pipe, because the steel pipe matrix and zinc layer of cold galvanized steel pipe are independent, the zinc layer is very thin, and simply attached to the steel pipe matrix, so the cold galvanized steel pipe is easy to fall off.
