What is carbon steel pipe?

What is seamless steel pipe?
Seamless steel pipe has a hollow cross section, a large number of used for conveying fluid pipelines, such as conveying oil, natural gas, water and some solid materials pipelines. According to different production methods, it can be divided into hot rolled pipe, cold rolled pipe, cold drawn pipe, extrusion pipe and so on.
Hot rolled seamless pipes are generally produced on automatic pipe rolling units. After checking and removing the surface defects, the solid tube billet is cut into the required length, centered on the end face of the perforated end of the pipe billet, and then sent to the heating furnace for heating, and perforated on the punch machine. At the same time, the perforation continues to rotate and advance. Under the action of the roll and the head, the blank tube gradually forms a cavity, called capillary tube. Then it is sent to the automatic pipe rolling machine to continue rolling. Finally, the whole wall thickness of the whole machine is even, and the diameter is determined by the sizing machine to meet the specification requirements. It is an advanced method to produce hot rolled seamless steel pipe by continuous rolling mill.
To obtain smaller size and better quality seamless pipes, cold rolling, cold drawing, or a combination of both must be used. Cold rolling is usually carried out on a two-high mill in which the steel pipe is rolled in a circular pass consisting of a circular groove of variable section and a fixed conical head. Cold drawing is usually carried out on 0.5~100T single or double chain cold drawing machine.
In the extrusion method, the heated pipe is placed in a closed extrusion cylinder, and the perforating rod moves with the extrusion rod to extrude the extruded parts from the smaller die holes. This method can produce steel pipe with smaller diameter.

What is welded steel pipe?

Since the 1930s, with the rapid development of high quality strip continuous rolling production and the progress of welding and inspection technology, the weld quality has been continuously improved, and the varieties and specifications of welded steel tubes have increased day by day, and the seamless steel pipes have been replaced in more and more fields.
Welded steel pipe is divided into straight seam welded pipe and spiral welded pipe according to the form of weld. Straight seam welded pipe production process is simple, high production efficiency, low cost and rapid development. The strength of spiral welded pipe is generally higher than that of straight seam welded pipe. It can produce welded pipe with larger pipe diameter with narrow blank, and it can also produce welded pipe with different pipe diameter with blank of the same width. However, compared with the straight seam pipe of the same length, the weld length increases by 30~100%, and the production speed is lower. Therefore, small diameter welded pipe mostly adopts straight seam welding, large diameter welded pipe mostly adopts spiral welding.
